Cold Will Not Last

December 26, 2010

Don’t like ice, it’s cold
Life comes to a hold
Sad stories are told
Things look grey and old
My reserves are sold
As misery does unfold
Traders are quite bold
Change firewood for gold
And yet, I am told
Some folks like it cold

Don’t like ice, it’s my foe
When temperatures are low
And chilling winds blow
Water stops to flow
Though under the snow
Grass remains and will grow
Keep hope, let time go
Spring flowers will show
A warm breeze will blow
And waters will flow

No more struggle and fight
No more attempts to hide
Budgets still will be tight
But the sky will be bright
When Summer is in sight
And my heard will be light
The sun will show his might
My thoughts will take a ride
Sitting still side by side
Everything will be right
