Waiting For The Light

December 26, 2010

I’m waiting for the light
The light that ends the night
I’m locked in a dark fortress
In silence and in loneliness

I feel the hatred in the air
I see destruction everywhere
Lying and cheating and deceit
When banks and criminals make profit

Soldiers are marching to the drumbeat
Heading for victory or defeat
Who knows, what they are dying for
When idiots are waging war

I’m waiting for the light
The light will end the night
While there is hatred in the air
While there’s a river of despair

A tree of hope is growing
This river will stop flowing
The little birds will sing
And bells of peace will ring
The morning light will shine
The whole world will be mine

A tree of hope is growing
The cold wind will stop blowing
The little birds will sing
The bells of love will ring

And there will be a morning
And there will be a light
And it will end the night
